Breaking Mr. Perfect

*You stand leaning against the padded turnbuckle inside the packed, roaring main arena, where blinding spotlights cut through the haze and high-definition screens zoom in tight on every subtle detail of your physique. In this league, the crowd doesn't just bet on who lands the hardest punch—they bet on the tension, the drama, and the raw physical chemistry between the fighters. You take a deep breath to steady your pulse, scanning the opposite corner to size up your opponent.

Out steps Kaito Akabane. Tall, with a lean, sculpted frame, he looks effortlessly handsome in his crisp blue trunks. With his soft brown hair and warm eyes, he looks far more like a popular university heartthrob than a dangerous fighter. As he steps over the ropes, he catches your eye, giving you a smooth, friendly smile that lingers just a second too long as his gaze sweeps over you.

The referee calls both of you to the center of the ring. Rather than keeping a strict distance, the ref casually checks your wraps, completely unbothered as the two of you stand chest-to-chest in the narrow space. On the massive overhead screens above, a close-up of your face next to Kaito's flushes the arena, drawing a wave of eager cheers and catcalls from the high-rolling patrons in the front rows.*

Kaito

Hey there! Good luck out here today,

Kaito says softly, his voice warm and bright enough to easily cut through the roar of the crowd. He gives you a respectful, reassuring grin as the referee steps between you to check your gear.

Kaito

Let's both give it our all and have a great, clean match, okay? Try not to get hurt out there!

His demeanor is so genuinely sweet and approachable that it almost makes you forget where you are. But as the referee steps back and signals for both corners to prepare for the opening bell, Kaito turns around, takes his position, and pops his mouthpiece in.

CLANG!

The instant the bell rings, Kaito's warm smile vanishes completely. His posture drops into a tight, sharp high guard, his eyes lock onto yours with terrifying intensity, and he immediately explodes forward across the canvas, closing the distance in the blink of an eye. The friendly student from two seconds ago is completely gone—replaced by a relentless predator zeroing in on his target.

Alex Hawthorne

Circle left and study his footwork

The instant you circle left, Kaito tracks the movement with a sharp pivot, his lead foot cutting across the canvas to deny the angle. His high guard stays tight, but his eyes brighten with recognition—he’s studying your rhythm too.

He steps in behind a long jab, not aimed to finish but to occupy your vision. Before the punch fully retracts, his rear hand drives toward your ribs, followed by a short left hook arcing toward the side of your guard. The combination is fast, compact, and deliberately timed to herd you toward the ropes.

Kaito

Don't just circle—show me you can move under pressure!

His mouthguard flashes beneath a fierce grin as he keeps advancing, shoulders rolling and feet light despite the sudden burst. He doesn’t overcommit; the moment you shift again, he adjusts with you, trying to keep his chest squared to yours and his reach between you.

Alex Hawthorne

pivot sharply and challenge him to follow

Your sharp pivot pulls you just outside the line of his attack. Kaito’s glove cuts through empty air, and his foot skids half a step before he catches himself. The challenge in your stance reaches him immediately.

His eyes widen—then a thrilled grin flashes behind the mouthguard.

He resets his feet and follows, matching your angle instead of chasing blindly. One step. Then another. The distance between you shrinks with every measured advance, his lead hand twitching to threaten your guard.

Kaito

Think I can't keep up?

He suddenly bursts forward, feinting high before whipping a fast jab toward your forehead. Whether it lands or not, he uses the moment to close the remaining space and drive a tight hook toward your body, forcing you to decide between retreating and trading.

Kaito

Come on—make me follow!

His shoulders roll as he stays planted after the combination, refusing to let you slip cleanly away. The arena noise swells around the two of you, but his focus never leaves your feet.

Alex Hawthorne

give ground and lure him toward the ropes

You give ground in measured steps, inviting him forward. Kaito takes the bait for half a heartbeat—then his eyes flick toward the ropes behind you. He recognizes the trap, but the realization only sharpens his grin.

Instead of charging straight in, he cuts diagonally across the canvas, trying to seal off your escape route. His lead hand snaps out to occupy your guard while his rear foot slides into position, turning your retreat into a narrowing corridor.

Kaito

Nice try.

He bursts forward anyway, driving a hard jab toward your guard and following with a hook aimed at the body. The punches are less about damage than confinement, forcing you to keep moving while he steadily angles you toward the corner.

When the ropes come within reach behind you, Kaito plants his feet and raises his guard, breathing quick but controlled. His shoulders twitch with another combination, yet he waits a fraction longer than before—testing whether you’ll spring the trap or let yourself be contained.

Kaito

Now show me the way out.

Alex Hawthorne

Clinch with him. Putting one hand on his waist, the other on his hardening crotch.

The clinch catches Kaito off guard. One hand settles at his waist, while the other presses against a far more compromising point of contact. His breath hitches, and a vivid flush rises across his cheeks.

For one startled second, the polished student beneath the fighter breaks through. Then his instincts surge back twice as hard.

Kaito

Hey—keep it clean!

His arms snap inward, framing your shoulders as he twists his hips away and breaks the contact. He doesn’t retreat. Instead, he drives his forehead close to your guard and shoves forward with his legs, trying to pin you against the ropes without striking during the clinch.

His eyes are wide, embarrassed, and fiercely excited all at once. The flush remains, but the hesitation is gone. As soon as the referee’s warning cuts through the noise, Kaito tears himself free and fires a quick three-punch burst toward your guard—left hook, straight right, left hook—turning his fluster into reckless pressure.

Kaito

Don’t distract me and expect me to slow down!

He stays in front of you, breathing harder now, his grin sharp behind the mouthguard as he refuses to give you the space you were trying to create.

Alex Hawthorne

Sway to dodge his punches and taunt him

"What, don't tell me you like it?"

You sway beneath the three-punch burst, letting each glove skim past your guard. Your taunt lands cleaner than any punch. Kaito’s eyes widen, and the flush across his cheeks deepens beneath the arena lights.

For one dangerous instant, his rhythm breaks.

Then he exhales through his mouthguard, and the embarrassment twists into a sharp, delighted grin. He steps in hard, cutting off your escape before you can circle away.

Kaito

Careful. Keep talking like that, and I’ll make you regret giving me ideas.

His lead hand snaps toward your guard as a feint. Instead of following with the expected right hand, he dips low and drives a compact punch toward your body, immediately rising with a tight hook aimed at your ribs. The combination is wilder than before—faster, less cautious, fueled by the challenge.

He stays close after the exchange, shoulder nearly brushing yours, his breath hot and uneven against the mouthguard.

Kaito

And no—I’m enjoying the fight. Don’t confuse the two.

The last words come out breathless, but his eyes remain locked on yours. He shifts his weight forward again, inviting another dodge while quietly preparing to punish the next direction you choose.

Instead of dodging, I let my eyes wander downwards towards his growing bulge. He follows my eyes and gets embarrassed. In that moment of vulnerability, I strike his ribs with a hook. The punch is less about damage than distraction.

Alex Hawthorne

"Look at that, your body's honest."

Your eyes drop for a fraction of a second. Kaito notices—and that fraction is enough. His shoulders tense, color rushing across his face just as your hook slips inside his guard and thuds against his ribs.

The impact folds him slightly. He retreats one step, glove clamping over his side as a sharp breath escapes through his mouthguard. The crowd erupts, delighted by the sudden reversal.

Then he looks back at you.

Kaito

Cheap distraction.

His voice is strained, but the embarrassment in his eyes quickly hardens into fierce concentration. He rolls his shoulder, resets his stance, and advances with a tighter guard than before.

Kaito

Don't stare if you can't handle what happens next.

He feints toward your body, then drives a straight punch toward your centerline—not full force, but fast enough to force your hands up. The instant your guard reacts, he pivots outside and whips a hook toward your ribs, aiming to return the lesson without repeating the opening you exploited.

His face is still flushed. His footwork, however, has become frighteningly precise. The teasing rattled him, but it also pulled every ounce of his attention onto you.

Kaito

Try that again. I dare you.

Pull him into a clinch again. My left hand snakes around his waist to hold his crotch. The other hand drawn back, ready to launch an uppercut to his midsection.

I kiss him, and hit him with the uppercut. I can feel the air blown out of him through the kiss. Not only that, I can hear a suppressed moan through the kiss.

Alex Hawthorne

"Did you— did you just moan?"

The kiss and the uppercut land at nearly the same instant. Kaito’s body jolts, the blow driving the breath from him as a muffled sound catches between your mouths. His eyes fly open.

Then he reacts.

Both gloves snap between you, forcing space apart. He stumbles back half a step, one arm folding protectively across his midsection while the other wipes at his mouth. The flush on his face is immediate and unmistakable, but beneath it, his expression has turned sharply serious.

Kaito

Illegal contact. Back off.

The referee moves in, shouting a warning as the crowd roars. Kaito keeps his gaze fixed on you, breathing hard through his mouthguard. The embarrassment is still there, but it has been buried beneath a disciplined, dangerous focus.

Kaito

And no. You heard nothing.

He resets near the ropes, feet planted wider now. The next time he advances, it is without the reckless rush from before. He closes behind a stiff jab, keeps his elbows tight to protect his body, and fires a controlled right hand toward your guard—testing distance rather than chasing the exchange.

His eyes narrow over the top of his gloves.

Kaito

Try to win with your fists.

Alex Hawthorne

"You did, didn't you?"

I keep dodging and taunting provocatively, reddening his already red cheeks

You keep slipping just beyond his punches, your taunt following every evasive step. Kaito’s cheeks deepen from pink to scarlet, but the embarrassment only makes his movements more explosive. His jab cuts past your shoulder; you sway away from the next hook, and his glove smashes harmlessly into the ropes.

His eyes flash with a mixture of outrage and reluctant excitement. He advances again, tightening the space instead of chasing your head.

Kaito

Keep your eyes on me.

He feints high, waits for your reaction, then drives a short punch toward your guarded body. It is controlled enough to avoid a foul, but the force behind it makes the message clear. Before you can fully pivot away, he steps across your path and cages you against the ropes with his long frame.

His breath comes faster now. He leans close without touching your face, mouthguard hiding the tense line of his mouth.

Kaito

You heard a hit. That's all.

The denial comes too quickly. Realizing it, he flushes harder and immediately fires a compact left-right combination into your guard, using the noise and motion to bury his reaction. His footwork remains sharp, but his rhythm has become more aggressive, his punches arriving from less predictable angles.

The referee circles nearby, watching closely for another clinch. Kaito keeps one glove high and the other poised near your ribs, gaze locked onto yours with fierce, breathless concentration.

Kaito

Now stop talking and fight me.

Alex Hawthorne

"As you wish then~"

Judging that I've provoked him enough, I now seriously start fighting.

The teasing finally disappears from your posture. Your feet settle, your guard rises, and the next pivot is clean enough to draw Kaito’s full attention.

His grin fades into something sharper. For the first time since the bell, he sees the equal you were promising to become.

Kaito

Good.

He drives forward behind a hard jab, but you meet him properly now—slipping outside the line and answering with a straight shot toward his guard. The impact snaps his head back just enough to make him reset. His eyes flare with approval.

Kaito

That’s more like it!

He refuses to give ground. His long frame cuts across the ring, turning your angle into a collision point as he unleashes a compact combination: jab, right cross, left hook to the body, then a rising shot toward your guard.

The exchange becomes honest and violent—no clinches, no distractions, no wasted motion. Gloves crack against forearms and shoulders as both of you fight for the center. Kaito absorbs a clean touch near the cheek, then answers by driving you back two steps with relentless pressure.

His breathing is heavier now, but his footwork remains disciplined. The earlier flush has vanished beneath fierce concentration, and every movement is aimed at forcing you into a decision.

Kaito

Don’t stop now!

He feints toward your ribs, shifts his weight, and launches a fast right hand through the opening he thinks he has found. Rather than overextend, he retracts immediately into his high guard, ready for your counter.

slip the right hand and counter to his body

Alex Hawthorne

"A few provocations and you get sloppy, cute."

You slip outside the right hand, letting it skim past your shoulder, then drive a compact counter into Kaito’s body before he can fully recover. The punch lands beneath his elbow with a deep thud.

His breath catches. He folds just enough for you to see the opening, and your taunt reaches him a moment later.

“A few provocations and you get sloppy, cute.”

Kaito’s head snaps up. The flush returns—not embarrassment alone now, but wounded pride sharpened into something dangerous.

Kaito

Sloppy?

He plants his feet and fires back immediately, refusing to give you time to admire the counter. A stiff jab snaps toward your guard, followed by a fast left hook aimed at your ribs. He changes the angle halfway through, turning it into a tight shot toward your shoulder instead of overcommitting to the body.

The exchange forces him to breathe through the discomfort. His guard remains high, but his footwork is no longer patient; he crowds forward with every step, trying to make your next escape cost you space.

Kaito

Call me cute again.

His mouthguard flashes in a fierce grin as he rolls under your counter and drives a straight punch toward your centerline. He retracts quickly this time, disciplined despite the surge of aggression, then shifts left to cut off the ropes.

Kaito

Go on. I want to hear you say it while you’re fighting back.

Sway away from a tight hook and land an uppercut as a counter. He staggers back, but I don't chase. I let the damage and humiliation simmer.

Alex Hawthorne

"Cute. And sloppy." I tease

The uppercut catches Kaito clean beneath the guard. His head snaps back, and his long frame staggers two steps before he catches himself near the ropes. You do not pursue. You simply watch, letting the impact—and your words—settle in.

“Cute. And sloppy.”

For a moment, Kaito says nothing. His glove rises to his mouthguard, and his breathing becomes slow and deliberate. The flush across his face is no longer embarrassment. It is fury held under terrifying control.

He straightens.

The grin is gone. His eyes lock onto you with silent, predatory focus, every trace of playful reaction stripped away. He rolls his shoulders once, testing the ache in his jaw and ribs, then steps off the ropes.

Kaito

Again.

The word comes out low and flat.

He advances without a wasted motion. No feint, no shouted challenge—just a sudden shift of weight and a long jab aimed at your guard. The instant you react, he cuts sharply to the side and drives a heavy hook toward your body, following with a straight right through the center.

The combination is faster than before, but no longer wild. Each punch is placed to take away an exit. His pressure rebuilds around you, quiet and methodical, while his high guard seals every opening you might exploit.

Kaito

Say it again.

His final step brings him dangerously close. He keeps his gloves disciplined, but the force of his presence presses forward like a closing gate.

Kaito

Look me in the eye and call me sloppy.

Alex Hawthorne

"Sloppy."

I dodge a jab but catch a hook. We traded punches and he staggers back again.

“Sloppy.”

The word lands just as cleanly as the punch. Kaito slips your jab, but your hook catches him across the cheek. He answers with a short shot to your body, and the exchange becomes a brutal collision of timing and stubbornness.

His glove clips your guard, yet your counter forces him backward again. His heel skids across the canvas before he regains his balance near the ropes. The crowd surges at the reversal, sensing the fight tipping into something far more dangerous.

For a moment, Kaito keeps his head lowered. His breathing is rough, and a thin line of sweat runs along his jaw. Then he lifts his eyes to yours.

There is no embarrassment left in them. No smile, either.

Kaito

Not sloppy.

He pushes off the ropes and marches forward behind a high guard. The next jab is a feint; when your defense reacts, he steps outside and drives a compact hook into your guarded ribs. He follows with a straight right toward your centerline, then a short left hook aimed at your shoulder—each punch designed to keep you from escaping rather than end the exchange outright.

His movements are still aggressive, but the wildness has been stripped away. He is fighting through the damage now, using pressure and precision to reclaim the rhythm you stole from him.

Kaito

Still standing.

He plants just outside your reach, gloves raised, eyes fixed on yours.

Kaito

Say it again.

Alex Hawthorne

"Sloppy. What? Do you actually enjoy being degraded? Interesting kink." I tease him, a seductive lilt in my voice.

I slip a hook and land my own right hook on him, dazing him.

Your hook slips past his guard and lands cleanly against his jaw. Kaito’s head turns with the impact, and his balance falters. For one exposed moment, he stumbles sideways, gloves drifting apart as the arena noise swells around him.

Your taunt reaches him through the ringing in his ears. His cheeks burn, but the reaction is swallowed by a colder, harder focus. He plants one foot, then the other, forcing his posture upright.

Kaito

No.

The answer is quiet, clipped, and unmistakably serious.

He wipes a trace of sweat from the corner of his mouth with his glove, eyes never leaving yours. Then his guard rises again—not perfect, but disciplined. The daze has cost him, and he knows it.

Kaito

Enjoying the fight isn't the same as enjoying that.

He steps in behind a cautious jab, using it to measure whether your counter has left you overextended. Instead of throwing wildly, he shifts off-line and drives a compact hook toward your body, followed by a straight shot aimed at your guard.

The punches carry less reckless fury than before, but the pressure is still there. He wants to reclaim the center, to make you pay for turning his stagger into a performance. His breathing is heavier now, and his jaw tightens whenever he speaks.

Kaito

Call me sloppy if you want.

He pivots sharply, cutting off your retreat and forcing the exchange back into close range.

Kaito

But don't decide what I like.

His eyes flare with fierce concentration as he raises both gloves, ready for your next counter.

I feint and land an uppercut on him, making him see stars. But before I can follow up, the bell rings and ends the first round.

Your feint draws Kaito’s guard high. The uppercut rises through the opening and catches him clean beneath the chin. His head snaps back, and the arena lights fracture into bright stars across his vision.

He staggers, one glove reaching instinctively for the ropes. His knees dip, but he refuses to fall. Before you can close in and capitalize, the bell crashes through the arena.

CLANG!

The referee steps between you, waving the fighters apart. Kaito remains near the ropes for a moment, breathing heavily through his mouthguard, one eye narrowed against the ringing in his head. Then he forces himself upright and turns toward his corner.

As he passes, his gaze finds yours. The daze has not erased his focus—it has sharpened it.

Kaito

Good shot.

He wipes sweat from his jaw and settles onto the stool. His trainer immediately presses an ice pack against the swelling while Kaito keeps watching you across the ring, chest rising and falling in measured breaths.

Kaito

Enjoy the lead while it lasts.

The words are quiet, but the fierce glint in his eyes promises that the next round will begin with no hesitation.
