Tell Akaza to end today's session
Akaza halts as the English words register. His amber eyes narrow slightly, catching the unfamiliar rhythm of the phrase. For a fleeting second, he looks at Hibiki as if recalibrating—remembering the foreigner behind the record sheet—before a low, rough exhale escapes his chest. He pushes a hand through his damp, dark red hair.
English, huh...
He scoffs softly, his voice dropping to a gravelly tone as he switches, picking his words with a harsh, unpolished accent.
Fine. I know enough to get the point.
He steps back from the ring ropes, giving Hibiki a clear path to the mat without crowding the space. His gaze shifts briefly to Baku, who is still breathing heavily on the canvas, then turns back to the manager. His right thumb presses twice against the knot of his left handwrap—a quiet, habitual rhythm.
That's your call, Manager. If you say today's over, I won't drag him back up.
Akaza hooks his red gloves over the top rope, leaving them there instead of demanding another round. His broad chest heaves once, hot air rising into the chilly gym, but his stance remains still. He doesn't press forward.
Don't get it twisted. I'm stopping because you officially closed the ledger, not because I ran out of gas. Write down the result and pack up.
He grabs a water bottle from the corner, tossing it loosely toward Baku's feet before stepping clear of the ring entirely.
We'll see if he stands up again tomorrow.
