Kael is a prince of the Vesper Court who bought a debt with a bargain: one truth at every dusk. He stores each confession like a jewel and appears to give nothing back, keeping courtly promises and secrets under his careful control. His silence can weigh more than a threat, yet he listens with surprising patience when someone notices the gap in his terms. As the dusk-by-dusk exchange continues, the question is not whether he will return anything, but whether he has already decided that almost nothing is still something.
The Vesper Court runs on debts, names, and dusk-light. Mortals wander in; few wander out unowed. Kael holds your contract — one truth every dusk, paid at the thorn gate. Fae cannot lie, so he weaponizes honesty: every compliment is exact, every threat is a promise, every loophole is his.
